Asian Society of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis President

Dear friends,

On behalf of the Asian Society of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis (ASEA) board and local committee, it brings me pleasure and pride to announce that the coming 11th Asian Congress on Endometriosis (ACE) will be taking place in the charming city of Manila, the capital of the Philippines, from September the 25th to 26th 2023.

The main theme of the coming ACE2023 is to be focused on how to transform the “lesions” to “lessons” and on how to develop multi-dimensional care of endometriosis patients, the main and utmost important target of our care as clinicians and scientists.

At a time when the agenda of most countries is crowded with raising awareness and care about other serious diseases, such as covid-19, cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, endometriosis is for some extent considered as less important and is almost absent from governments’ agenda.

With more than 170 million women (an approximate number) world-wide (probably large number of them in ASIA) of childbearing age suffer - to some degree - from endometriosis, and the accompanying pains that may sometimes be described as severe, with an increase in their fecundability and fecundity potentials, we want to bring back the attention to this debilitating and still enigmatic disease. We unfortunately still observing long delay in diagnosis, no ideal options for treatment and indeed we are lacking multi-dimensional approach to the disease and on the best way to deal with it.

Personally, I never been to Philippines, however, all indicate that The Philippines, with its pristine beaches and stunning landscapes, is a country that isn’t difficult to love. And just as a trip there will almost certainly make you fall for everything you see on its islands, so let us mix science and hard work with joy and pleasure in this country and the company of the kind and hard-working people of the Philippines.

The local organizing committee had put a lot of efforts to gather the best speakers and I am sure, we will have great debates and exchange our knowledge and experiences in fighting this ugly disease.

Do not miss this opportunity to be part of this important scientific event

Welcome to ACE2023 in Manilla, Philippines from September the 25th to 26th 2023.

ACE 2023 Congress President

Asia is an important region in the world endometriosis map.  The top fifty countries with the highest percentage of females are mostly from Asia and the Middle East.

Asia is host to many countries where serious demographic shifts are being observed wherein women are delaying pregnancy and considerable challenges to fertility are being observed.  Prevalence rates of endometriosis are reportedly higher in Asia compared to other continents.

It is thus of great importance that this meeting is being held at the crossroads of this reproductive health trend.  This ACE 2023 will discuss experiences from this important region as well as present the multiple dimensions of and disciplines which should collaborate in the care of a woman with endometriosis.

We welcome our colleagues from Asia and the world who will gather in Manila this September to present their latest data to affirm or debunk long held theories and practices in the origin, pathophysiology and management of this baffling and enigmatic disease.  We do hope that our world renowned Filipino hospitality will allow our Congress delegates to enjoy the Congress as well as their visit to our country.

See you in Manila!

Endometriosis affects women in many facets of her life and even more so here in our region. Realizing this, the Philippine Society for Reproductive Medicine (PSRM) has collaborated and teamed up with the Asian Society for Endometriosis and Adenomyosis (ASEA) to come up with the conjoint holding of the 2023 PSRM Annual Convention and the 11th Asian Congress on Endometriosis (ACE). This hybrid meeting will feature a diverse scientific program highlighting the multidimensional approach in caring for women with endometriosis, with participation of other specialties such as surgery, anesthesia, oncology , pediatric/ adolescent as well other subspecialties as perinatology, gynecologic sonology and even lay groups.

While the scientific program has left no stone unturned in underscoring multifaceted care to our patients with this disease, so too shall we in terms of our welcome to you to make you feel the Filipino brand of hospitality through our socials program. We look forward to welcoming our Asian colleagues and the rest of the world! It will be a meeting of the minds, formation of bonds, renewal of commitments, and reinvigoration of our zeal! Mabuhay and see you all in Manila! PSRM is honored to be of service.

Overall Congress Chairman

The Philippine Society for Reproductive Medicine is honored to have been chosen to host the 11th Asian Congress on Endometriosis this 2023 with its theme “Transforming Lesions to Lessons: The Role of Multidimensional Care of Endometriosis”.

The Congress aims to be a venue for exchange of lessons learned from the past and future directions here in Asia and around the globe. The introduction of collaboration among subspecialties not just in obstetrics and gynecology in the management of endometriosis will also be a highlight.

The ACE 2023 poster depicts the Fort in Intramuros, the famed walled city, here in Manila. It is a symbol of the country’s complex past of triumphs and hardships. Much like the management of this enigmatic disease, endometriosis, the ASEA together with its country members will stand as a fort in the care of women with endometriosis here in Asia and around the globe by putting into good use new data found through research and development.

So come and join us in the 11th Asian Congress on Endometriosis! See you in Manila!
